The Deputy Minister of Education Hon Nancy Chaola Mdooko has cautioned a contractor constructing a school block at Jombo Primary School for a substandard work in Chikwawa district.
Mdooko made the remarks after inspecting the progress of the work this morning where she unveiled that the work has not been impressive enough to the public as the structure is weak due to inadequate cement.
She has then directed the contractor to re-do the work before empowering community members to report any substandard work at the site so as to have recommendable work.
Reacting to the queries one of the workers at the site, Simon Yotamu says rains affected their work hence resulting into substandard work but was quick to comment that everything will be put in place to produce quality work.
Taking her turn, headteacher for Jombo Primary School Rhoda Malunga says the newly constructed will reduce pupil-teacher ratio as well as shelter for flood victims when trouble comes.
