The government of Malawi through the Ministry of Water and Sanitation has warned of flash floods in Phalombe District to rising water levels in the Namphende River.
Spokesperson for the ministry, James Daire Kumwenda, in the statement said the monitoring system at Mankhanamba Bridge shows water levels nearing a critical point.
Kumwenda has emphasized the importance of caution and vigilance in the communities, urging residents in Nandiwo, Likatchale, Phaloni, Tibu, Mwandawala, Wanye, Hammerton, and Nampinga to stay on high alert.
