A total of 30 coaches have applied for the position of head coach at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers following the departure of Briton Mark Harrison who joined UD Songo of Mozambique in December.

According to Nation news paper At least 30 coaches including 15 Europeans, 7 Africans and 3 local Malawian coaches have applied for the job.

Wanderers acting chief executive officer Roosevelt Mpinganjira told the nation that the first phase of the short-listing was already done, which was the removal of applications that did not meet requirements and the 30 applicants have been sent to the club president, Thomson Mpinganjira for his approval.

Earlier last week the nomads advertised for the position of head coach, saying they are looking for looking for a highly motivated, committed and disciplined coach with proven hands-on football coaching knowledge and experience.

However, according to the advert, the minimum qualification for applicants was CAF A or its equivalent licence and should have verifiable achievements for the past five years, including winning a national league title and at least two cups.

The Lali Lubani Road outfit finished on position 3 in TNM Super League and failed to clinch any silverware which led to the resignation of Mark Harrison.
