Information reaching this publication indicates that the missing Presidential carpet has been recovered this morning in Mwanza.
It is reported that the carpet was stolen together with a tent last night as the items were being moved to Mwanza where President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to hold a public event tomorrow on Friday.
Earlier this morning, National Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya dismissed the news saying it was not a carpet but rather some materials belonging to the Ministry of Transport.
Investigations are currently underway.
