FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Forward Maxwell Gasten Phodo says social media is killing a lot of players in Malawi and players need to be careful on how to use social media specifically Facebook.

Speaking in a recorded video posted on Wa Ganyu Facebook page, the former silver Stickers attacker said players need to be careful on how to handle social media more especially  Facebook.

“Facebook is killing careers of many players here in Malawi because on Facebook there are a lot of negative comments and those comments demoralize the confidence of you as a player, as for me I don’t have a Facebook account so I encourage my fellow players to be careful when using social media platforms,” said Phodo.

Phodo also explained how he fared in the 2023 football season and his transitional process from the central bankers to the people’s team.

“The 2023 season was tough for me because at Bullets you play with pressure as fans always want good results which is different from my previous club and at first my performance was not that pleasing after as a was in a transition phase to cope up with my fellow players at Bullets, Phodo said.

The Skillful forward left Silver Strikers last year following the expiry of his deal and signed a three-year contract with Bullets which ties him to the club until 2025.
