State prosecutor Sub Inspector Flora Chasanga identified the convict as Madalitso Dickson of Chibiyazi Village in the area of Senior Chief Kasakula in Ntchisi district.
The court heard through Chasanga that Dickson committed the offence on December 12, 2023 when he hired Nakutepa from Mkaika Trading Centre to Mwansambo Trading Centre.
The matter was reported to Mkaika Police Unit and a follow up was made leading to the arrest of the convict and recovery of the stolen motorcycle at Mtosa Trading Centre in the area of Senior Chief Mwadzama in the district.
Passing sentence, First Grade Magistrate Felix Phaiya concurred with the state saying the offence Dickson committed is serious in nature.
