The ruling ANC’s national executive committee stated Monday (Jan.29) that it has resolved to “summarily suspend Jacob Zuma as a member” in South Africa.

Local media, citing committee sources, indicate that the former president will face the party’s disciplinary committee.

Zuma openly indicated in December that he will campaign and vote for the newly established MK party.

Zuma stated in his endorsement of the party that he could not back the “ANC of President Cyril Ramaphosa”.

However, the ANC constitution says that any member or public representative who joins or supports any organization or party other than the ANC or its alliance partners Cosatu, the SACP, or Sanco may face disciplinary action.
