The Blantyre City Council (BCC) has banned the selling of green maize in all markets in the city.
In a press statement that Face of Malawi has seen, the ban has been imposed to those who sell green maize whether fresh, cooked or roasted to stop starting from 4th February 2024.
Meanwhile the council has urged all green maize vendors in the city to strictly observe the ban in an effort of protecting themselves from being arrested.
