President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday hosted his former primary school headmaster at Kaning’a Full Primary School, Mr. Michael Chatsunda Banda at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.

In a statement posted on his official facebook page Chakwera said he hosted his former headteacher as an appreciation for his good work.

“Few days ago, I hosted to a luncheon my primary school headmaster at Kaning’a Full Primary School, Mr. Michael Chatsunda Banda, who played a huge role in my life both as a student and a person.

“Many decades later, and after an enriching chat with him, I still admire his outright dedication to education,” wrote Chakwera.

He added: “We will continue utilising people of his calibre as the reference point in our pursuit of better education standards.”

Chatsunda is now aged 91.
