Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader of back benchers in Parliament Victor Musowa has said the DPP MPs will not hold vigils at Parliament building following the presence of Malawi Congress Party supporters at Kamuzu Mausoleum which is close the Parliament building.

Musowa said DPP is a party that promotes peace and would not want to be involved in confrontations with MCP.

He added that the DPP MPs will hold their vigils in a different way. The MPs will not go to Parliament today.

Musowa who is also the DPP coordinator for the blue convoy parade says it will hold the parade on Friday and will start from Memorial Tower at Area 18 in Lilongwe.

He has refuted reports that the DPP planned to hold the parade today starting from Parliament building.

“We are a civilised party. We cannot start a parade from the Parliament building.

“The communication for today’s parade did not come from the party. I am the national coordinator for the blue convoy and any communication regarding the blue convoy is supposed to come from me. Some people just wanted to portray that DPP wants to bring confusion,” said Musowa.
