Leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Parliament Mary Navicha has refused to officially respond to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s state of the nation address in the August House this afternoon.

Earlier this morning Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara communicated to the house that Navicha will respond to the house today since she and other MPs from DPP were suspended.

However, after DPP was given a chance to deliver their response to the Sona this afternoon, Navicha said their response was already delivered outside Parliament to Malawians through the media.

Her response attracted ululation from the DPP benches.

But in response Speaker Gotani Hara said Navicha’s response made outside the August House does not stand part of the hand-sad.
