Police at Jenda, in Mzimba have arrested three men on suspicion that they killed Reginald Shaba, 29, after stabbing him with a knife on the chest at Embangweni in the district.
Spokesperson for Jenda Police, Macfarlen Mseteka has identified the three as, Zacharia Nyasulu aged 29, Masida Nyasulu 29 and Kingsley Chunga 20 year-old.
According to Mseteka, Shaba met his fate during the night of February 6, 2024.
It is believed that Shaba was killed by the suspects, who were unknown then, when he was coming from a drinking joint. The suspects had been on the run since the incident.
After intensive investigations by Jenda police detectives, the three suspects were arrested. The trio has admitted to have confronted Shaba on his way home from a drinking joint and later they stabbed him on the chest with a knife after a misunderstanding over a flimsy issue.
The three have been charged with murder contrary to section 209 of the Penal code and they will appear before court soon.
Jenda Police Station assures community members of its continued swift investigations in solving crimes and will continue to bring to book all perpetrators of crime.
All the three suspects come from Mulapamani village, Traditional Authority Mzikubola in Mzimba district.
