Illovo Sugar company Malawi has dropped its plans of producing their own energy.
The sentiment has been made by Company’s Managing Director Lekani Katandula during the stakeholders day in Blantyre.
This comes barely after a year when the company announced plans to venture into energy production as one way of diversifying .
According to Katandula,the process has encountered so many challenges forcing the company to take its plan down.
Meanwhile Illovo Sugar Company Malawi says that it has registered a profit of between K22 billion to K25 billion as compared to K33.7 billion in the previous half of the financial year of the company
