President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has warned perpetrators in the hacking of system at Immigration Department resulting in the suspension of printing of passport saying once caught they will face the law.
Chakwera said this when answering a concern raised by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmaker Sameer Sulemani who demanded the immediate firing of Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma over the system collapse.
But in his response Chakwera said the suspension of passport printing does not warrant Cabinet reshuffle.
He then commanded the Department of Immigration to find a temporal relief within three weeks, while they are working on tightening security measures.
“I want to send a strong message to the hackers that we will not pay a ransom. We have launched an investigation to track you and when we track you there will be no mercy,” warned Chakwera.
