Mwanza First Grade Magistrate court has convicted and sentenced a 20-year-old man to 6 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a 14-year-old girl.

Spokesperson for Mwanza police Station,  Hope Kasakula has confirmed the development and identified the convict as Jolijo Mangton.

According to Kasakula, the court heard through state prosecutor Sub Inspector Rachael Namwada  that the convict committed the offence between the months of September 2023 and January 2024 at Gaga Village in Chikwawa district.

In passing judgement,first Grade Magistrate Gladstone Chilundu slapped Jolijo six-year jail term with hard labour as a caution to would-be offenders.

Jolijo Mangton hails from Gaga village, Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa district.
