Police in Lumbadzi, a town in Lilongwe, have arrested a 27-year-old man named Gift on suspicion of murdering his father.

According to Lumbadzi Police spokesperson Felix Kwinyani, the suspect allegedly assaulted his father, leaving him unconscious after a dispute over cutting down a tree.

Gift’s father was rushed to the hospital, where medical reports from Kamuzu Central Hospital indicate that he succumbed to his injuries, including those to his back and head.
