Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara has suspended proceedings until 2pm, awaiting the budget presentation by Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda.
The meeting commenced with a moment of silence to honor the late Lawson Chitseko, an assistant clerk of parliament responsible for committees, who passed away earlier this week.
The parliament will meet again in the afternoon.
