Pirimiti Community Hospital Board in Zomba district has closed the health facility indefinitely, following continued misunderstandings between the workers and the hospital management.

In a letter signed by board’s chairperson Raphael Piringu, it has advised all workers against loitering within the hospital premises.

“Furthermore, the board would like to request members of staff and all patients who are at the hospital receiving various kinds of treatment must be referred or transferred to other health facilities where they can continue receiving treatment,” reads part of the letter,.

On November 20, last year, the hospital workers held a three-day sit in, to force the resignation of three hospital directors, who the workers alleged to be unprofessional and lacking managerial skills.
