The Malawi Police Service (MPS) in the Southern west region has promised to make Blantyre and Limbe the safest places for residents and various business people to transact business freely.

The sentiments has been made by Commissioner for the South West Region, Mlowoka Noel Kayira, in Limbe during the meeting with members of the Asian Business Community.

Kayira has said that they have increased the police’s visibility to deal with criminals, including street-connected children.

He added that more needs to be done to enhance community policing and ensure that criminals are stopped and apprehended before causing any damage.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Asian Community, Fardeen Sidik, explained that they spend about half a billion kwacha every year to support police work in Limbe, BCA, Maone, Mudi, and Mpingwe.
