Police in Chiradzulu district have arrested two men suspected of murdering 78-year-old Edina Makhumba in her home on February 9th this year.
Chiradzulu Police spokesperson, Cosmas Kagulo, confirmed that the two suspects, Joseph Wesele, aged 37, and James Kanjinga, aged 31, were apprehended in Lidala Village under Chief Mpama’s jurisdiction.
Kagulo stated that upon killing the elderly woman, the suspects allegedly stole various items including household utensils, chickens, maize, and cash amounting to K112,000.
Currently, the police have detained the suspects pending further investigation and prosecution for murder and theft charges.
