A girl aged between 7 and 10-years-old is battling life-thr£atening injuries in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at University Teaching Hospital (UTH), after sustaining deep cuts, supposedly, inflicted by unknown assailants.
UTH Public Relations Officer for Adult Unit, Nzeba Chanda, says the victim was rushed to the health facility on Sunday, 25th February 2024 by a good Samaritan who discovered the minor lying in a pool of blood in Chawama Compound.
Ms Chanda, reveals two days later, the girl’s consciousness is still low hence the need for continuous treatment.
She adds, since the juvenile’s details are unknown, the hospital has requested the public to help locate her relatives and if found they should meet hospital staff for identification.
Police are yet to establish circumstances the young girl found herself in.
