Thyolo Police have arrested Paul Mzembera, the headteacher of Nansato Primary School, on suspicion of stealing 102 bags of Likuni Phala flour valued at K2.9 million.

The alleged theft occurred at the school’s storeroom on February 25, 2024, as reported by Enock Thokole, the school feeding officer, and other staff members.

The missing bags of flour were discovered by school staff, including Mrs. Mithenga and Mr. Wiseman, during routine preparations for the school feeding program.

Sergeant Rabecca Kashoti, the district police publicist, confirmed the arrest and highlighted the significance of the reported theft.

Despite the absence of signs of forced entry into the storeroom, an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the missing flour.
