Ntchisi Hospital Staff Pressure Leads to Transfer of Three Senior Officials

The Ministry of Health has transferred three senior officers at Ntchisi District Hospital following pressure from junior staff who accused them of mismanagement.

According to a letter dated 26th February 2024, those transferred include Dr. Alinafe Kalanga, Director of Health and Social Services, James Mtonga, District Health Environmental Officer, and Lydia Sibale, Administrator.

The ministry aims to address concerns raised by staff and ensure effective management of the hospital.

Executive director of the Malawi Local Government Association, Hadrod Mkandawire, has announced plans for independent investigations into the situation at the hospital.
