Lingadzi Police in Lilongwe have arrested three individuals suspected of being involved in the killing of a father in Kauma.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Cassim Manda, the three suspects are Alex Moyo, aged 20, Innocent Mbewe, 19, and Joseph Keleyamu, aged 35.
They allegedly met on the 21st of this month and started searching for someone they believed had stole from a school child.
Upon encountering the victim, they started assaulting him, suspecting him to be the perpetrator.
However, community members intervened and rescued the victim from the hands of the suspects.
The suspects the fought back, attacked the victim again thats when the community members called the police to intervene leading to the transfer to Kamuzu Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Although the suspects claimed to have been informed about the incident the same day, investigations revealed that the victim had arrived from Chadza earlier that day, where he worked, and was sharing the news of a funeral.
