Lilongwe District Council has banned selling of green maize in the district starting from 5th March 2024.
In a press statement signed by Lilongwe District Commissioner Dr Lawford Palani, the ban has come following the complaints that people have raised of losing their maize in garden due to theft.
Palani has also warned Lilongwe residents against the act of stealing other people’s maize for business and if anyone caught he or she will face the law.
