The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services (DCCMS) has warned against the possibility of a tropical cyclone hitting southern Malawi.
In a statement released today, the department says, “There are 60 percent chances that the storm may get to or closer to the southern parts of the country.”
It says there is a possible development of a tropical storm in the Mozambique Channel by Sunday, March 10, 2024.
According to the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services, many parts of the country will continue to receive heavy rains, which may result in flooding in low lying and flood-prone areas.
