Madalitso Kazombo, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, revealed that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has appointed Joseph Mwanamveka as its new finance spokesperson, succeeding Ralph Jooma.
In his response to the budget, Mwanamveka criticized the Tonse government’s budget management, accusing them of causing economic mismanagement and hardships for Malawians.
Mwanamveka voiced optimism that under the DPP’s leadership in 2025, they would alleviate the current economic struggles experienced by Malawians.
Further, Mwanamveka accused the Tonse government of promoting corruption and authoritarianism, intensifying his critique of their governance.
