Government through the ministry of education has instituted investigations into contractual records involving the construction of classroom blocks at Machinga Secondary School, whose blocks were completed about six years ago.
Ministry spokesperson Mphatso Nkuonera made the revelation today in reaction to pictures circulating on social media that show some of the classroom blocks at the school wearing off.
The classrooms blocks, were constructed by Nangaunozge Construction Company and got certified for payment.
Nkuonera further says they are also investigating other school structure projects across the country to ascertain their quality.
However, executive director of the Center for Social Accountability and Transparency (CSAT), Willy Kambwandira, has blamed authorities for failing to supervise and monitor project implementation, which is resulting in substandard work.
