Man arrested for cultivating Chamba

Police at Mponela in Dowa have arrested 31-year-old Davide Joloza for allegedly cultivating Indian hemp without a licence.
Mponela Police Station spokesperson Macpatson Msadala said detectives from the station were tipped off that Joloza had planted the illicit substance behind his house.
Msadala said the officers followed up on the tip-off and arrested the suspect, whose garden 40 plants of Indian hemp.
They uprooted the plants and took Joloza into custody pending a court appearance.
Joloza comes from Kulumbwe Village, Traditional Authority Dzoole in the district.
