Police in Mchinji apprehended 10 students from Kamwanya Community Day Secondary School for allegedly damaging school property on Sunday night.
District Police spokesperson Limbani Mpinganjira stated that the students had set ablaze property worth over K25 million in protest against the suspension of some of their colleagues over indiscipline.
The suspects were charged with arson and malicious damage as police continued to track down those who had fled.
Meanwhile, a teacher at the school, Aleken Sylvester Sitolo, mentioned that mock and end-of-term two examinations had commenced following the intervention of the cluster team and Educational Divisional Manager, Daniel Nkhata.
