Phindu Zaie Banda, a poetry artist is in New York where she will attend the 6th annual Commission on the status of Women (CSW68) at the united Nationals Headquarters representing Actions Aid’s Young Urban Women’s Network in Malawi.
Phindu said in the past years she has performed in different festival both in and outside the country. She also speak on several panels advocating for a feminist well-being.
The experience has been exciting for Phindu, the ability to share her art and speak among like-minded people about progressing social justice is wonderful. Apart from sharing her verses, she has also learnt a lot and had the opportunity to share the best practices from Malawi.
The artist uses poetry to express herself and at the same time use it to tackle issues affecting society to bring change.
