President Malawi, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has left the country for Lusaka Zambia where he will attend the Extraordinary Summit Meeting of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) scheduled for tomorrow.
Speaking on his departure at Kamzuzu International Airport (KIA) Chakwera said the aim of this meeting is to discuss the issue about the security among in SADC countries especially Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Mozambique since these two countries there are instabilities.
The unrest in these two countries somehow is effecting SADC countries to have poor security and the El-Nino weather that has affected the region.
According to Chakwera, during the summit heads of states will discuss about hunger issues affecting some SADC countries and how there can deal with it.
The Malawian leader emphasized the importance of dealing with region problems together among SADAC countries, since people in the region share common problems.
President Lazarus Chakwera will return home on Saturday March 23, 2024 .
