Three people have died, while several others have sustained serious injuries following a road accident that occurred in Mchinji yesterday.
According to a story published by Zodiak online, the incident happened at Chikhutu village along the Lilongwe-Mchinji M12 road.
It is said that the victims who were over 13 in total were on their way to Namitete to attend the funeral ceremony of their relation.
Director of Health and Social Services for Mchinji Dr. Yohane Mwale, said 62 year-old woman Jennifer Banda and a 35 year-old man, Collins Manfred Ngoma, died on the spot.
According to Dr. Mwale, the third person died upon arrival at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, where he was referred to together with the other person.
