President Lazarus Chakwera tomorrow on 27 March 2024 will attend the memorial service of people that died during Cyclone Freddy.

The memorial will take place in Mulanje District at Mulanje stadium.

It’s almost a year now ever since Cyclone Freddy happened. Cyclone  Freddy dropped six month of rainfall in 3 days, triggering floods and mudslide that killed more than 1,200 people in Malawi.

Blantyre, Chikwawa, Nsanje,Mulanje and Phalombe were District that Cyclone Freddy destroyed.

Although President Chakwera will attend the Memorial Service, some of Malawians are not happy with it.

Chifundo Sefasi commented on the Malawi Governments post that President Chakwera is travelling a lot.

“Almost daily Chakwera is on the road. It’s getting boring now,” he wrote.

David Kapopo Mhango also commented that Chakwera is using they money over useless things.

“Instead of him using the money on importance things his busy traveling,” said Mhango.

“Could this be a part of campaigning?” Pita Kamtembe queried in the comment section.
