Former United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi has raised a red flag over continuous arrests of well-known right activist in the country Bon Kalindo.
Kalindo was arrested on Wednesday this week on grounds that of publishing material likely to cause public alarm.
Principal Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe granted him bail this morning but he is still in police custody as he awaits another bail ruling this afternoon on charges bordering on possession of a fire arm without a licence.
Writing on his official facebook page, Muluzi described Kalindo’s continuous as arrests as harassment.
“I am raising a red flag on the ongoing harassment and repeated arrests of Activist Bon Kalindo by the MCP government.
“The escalating authoritarian behaviors, including the exploitation of poverty and dependence in Malawi, are deeply concerning,” wrote Muluzi.
Meanwhile, Kalindo is answering several court case.
