Two inmates escape from Mangochi Prison

Two prisoners escaped from Mangochi prison last night.
According to people close to the facility, the two escaped around 9 p.m., but with assistance from the community authorities, they managed to re-arrest one.
Prison authorities are yet to give details on the matter, but Mangochi police spokesperson, Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi, has confirmed the incident, saying they are keeping him in their custody.
Tepani Daudi has identified him as Chifundo Harry, 23 from Mwambo village, Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba district, but said they are also waiting for prison authorities to give details on what exactly happened.
