Pondayapa (in slippers) was claiming damages for pain and suffering as well as deformity as he was bitten by the dogs of a defendant in the case.

He met his fate while he was walking along the road. Following the incident, Pondayapa sought legal aid, and his matter was taken up by Senior Legal Aid Advocate Chibamahara Msyale with assistance from Assistant Legal Aid Officer Sinthani Sisya.

In Court, the Bureau assisted Pondayapa in proving his claim, and the Court awarded him MK600,000 as damages.
