The Ministry of Education says has great concern the social media reports that of a lecturer at Mzuzu University (Mzuni) was allegedly involved in “sex-for-grades” exploitation.
The allegation which is being reported to be exposed by a former student who has just graduated from the institution, has been circulating on social media for over a week now.
According to spokesperson of Education Ministry Mphatso Mkuonera, this is a serious misconduct as stipulated in the Rules and Regulations for governing the institution.
“Through the University’s Institutional Integrity Committee (IIC) and the Disciplinary Committee, the matter is being investigated expeditiously in accordance with rules of natural justice”, said Nkuonera.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway to come up with exact story that will bear appropriate actions.
