Information reaching this publication indicates that there is commotion around Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre where vendors have blocked the road to the hospital in protest against the demolition of their structures.
It is said that Blantyre City Council (BCC) accompanied by law enforcers last night demolished makeshift structure constructed by the said vendors plying trade around the hospital.
This angered the vendors who in retaliation blocked the road to the hospital by stones and some were burning tyres causing traffic jam in the process.
City Council of officials accompanied by law enforcers are currently on the scene to calm down the situation.
