The controversy that surround the Malawi’s league has come to an end as Premier Bet are no longer the Co- Sponsor of Malawi’s League.
The development has come after the Footbal Association of Malawi has told the sports minister, Uchizi Mkandawire that SULOM will not proceed the plans to take Premier Bet as co- sponsor
FAM President Fleethood Haiya told the minister in Lilongwe during the meeting after he enquired the clarity about the controversy surrounding the league.
Haiya said the mission to take Premier Bet will be dropped and that the betting company will support the football in another way.
“I wanted to get the information on the matter on how the situation will be handled without losing the sponsorship” said Minister.
Meanwhile,Haiya said they had discussions with all stakeholders and resolved to have TNM as the Malawi’s league sponsor
“We had the discussions with TNM and they will sponsor the league as Premier Bet will sponsor football in another way” Haiya said.
The coming in of Premier Bet on March 30 brought the controversy as the current sponsor was not happy with the initiative.
TNM is the only sponsor of Malawi League as they will soon announce the 2024 package.
TNM missed the 2024 league Launch in Dedza.
TNM has been the sponsoring the Malawi league for 17 years
