Zomba district health office has assisted over 1064 women with postal abortion care within the months of January to March this year.

The development has been revealed during a sensitization workshop for journalists on sexual representative health and abortion in zomba, organized by the center for solution journalism (CSJ).

In his speech, the executive director of CSJ, Brian Ligomeka explained that, exposing the danger and extent of unsafe abortion in the communities is the only way to make the legal structure that can assist women in safe abortions

The district’s health Personell said the large number of unplanned and unprotected sex is uncontrolled among the youth in the communities, this has contributed to early unplanned pregnancies among youth.
