Authorities in Mulanje district have raised a concern over the increase of crimes among children in the district.
According to the District police spokesperson Innocent Moses said, the number of cases involving children has increased rapidly between the months of January and March and so far they have recorded 36 cases involving Children and most the cases involved breaking and theft.
Meanwhile, the child activist Amos Chibwana outlined that the number is worrying and they need to do something to handle the situation very fast.
“Am pleaded with the guardians and duty bearers, social welfare officers and other stakeholders to come up with the solution and provide the children with psychosocial counselling all the time” he said.
