Centre for Multiparty Democracy Executive Director Kizito Tenthani has been appointed as Registrar of Political Parties.
Ministry of Justice spokesperson Frank Namangale has confirmed the development in an interview with the press.
According to Namangale, Tenthani came top during interviews conducted by the Civil Service Commission in January this year.
Tenthani will be waiting for confirmation from the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament which is scheduled to meet soon.
