The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is pushing the government to furnish Malawians with information on passport contract with E-tech Systems.

In a press statement signed by the party spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba, the DPP alleges that E-tech System is connected to members of the governing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and cannot print passports for thousands of Malawians.

The former ruling party believes the procedures for awarding the contract to the said company were flouted and warns that if the government does not disclose to Malawians how the contract was arrived at, they will launch an independent inquiry.
