The President Chakwera said youth should take the role of creativity and innovations in all aspects of human development, with respect to advancing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the country

He emphasized this today during the commemoration of world creativity and innovation day at BICC in Lilongwe under the theme “step out, create and innovate for the Malawi we want”

In his remarks president Lazarus Chakwera said its high time Malawians appreciates what innovators are doing to sustain the development goals in the country and stop giving respects to the people who always talk without showing the actions on the ground.

He further said that, Malawians should stop crapping hands for degree holders but should crap hands for the people who have the creative minds that can strengthen the development goals of the country.

“We should crap hands for innovators because they have potential in uplifting their economic statuses and contribute to the development of the country. My government consider innovators as the important people that is why we launched the K75 billion NEEF program to support their innovations into business ventures them .” he said.

In 2002, the United Nations designated April 21 as World creativity and innovation Day to advocate for and raise the awareness about pivotal role of creativity and innovation in a global development.
