Police in Mzuzu have arrested seven people for allegedly being suspected to have hacked to death a guard as well their involvement in a series of robbery incidents in Mzuzu City.

Spokesperson for Northern Region Police Maurice Chapola has confirmed the arrest and said the suspects are accused for being behind a series of robbery incidents that targeted lodges, foreign nationals as well as high profile individuals.

According to Chapola, a number of people have been hacked during the said robberies and a guard working for a businessman died due to injuries he sustained after being hacked.

Meanwhile, Chapola has pleaded with the general public to join hands with the police in creating a safe city by among others reporting of suspicious individuals and activities in their localities.
