The Lilongwe Water Board has handed over a K3.5 million cheque to the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter towards its annual awards in the Urban Water Development Journalist category.
“This will help build the Journalists capacity in reporting issues of water and sanitation which are crucial.” Said the Chief Executive Officer for the water utility body Sili Mbewe.
Mbewe added that the institution is also delivering sewer services thereby a need to work with media institutions with the aim of raisingmore awareness on issues of both water and sanitation.
Steve Zimba a member of MISA Malawi National Governing Council appreciated the support.
