NIGERIA – Abdullahi Ismail, a Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army, has been dismissed from service after being found guilty of having sexual relations with a colleague’s wife.

The dismissal occurred at the 231 Battalion in Biu, Borno State, during the week.

This action aims to deter other soldiers from engaging in similar misconduct, which is reportedly common within barracks.

Ismail had a history of sexual indiscipline before being reported to army authorities, according to a source.

His actions are deemed indecent professional misconduct and violate Sections 79 and 93 of the Armed Forces Act, which stipulate jail term and dismissal from service with dishonour.
