Vice Chancellor for Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, Professor Nancy Chitera has urged unemployed graduates in the country to consider venturing into entrepreneurship rather than waiting for formal employment.
In an interview with Professor Chitera said that MUBAS alone graduates over 100 students per year hence relying on employment is unrealistic.
“Highlighting the institution’s focus on business programmes, we have always encouraged students to have business and innovative ideas to be well-equipped after graduating” she said.
MUBAS is set to hold its first congregation as an independent university on May 29, 2024, since it was delinked from the University of Malawi in 2021.
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is expected to be installed as the Chancellor of the university before presiding over the graduation ceremony.
