The Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) has announced the commencement of purchase of maize and other produce.

The corporation’s Chief Executive Officer Dan Makata said that they target to buy between 40 and 50,000 metric tons of maize using 22 billion kwacha allocated in this year’s budget.

“The purchase have started in the Southern Region where maize, beans, groundnuts and soya beans are ready for the market” said Makata.

Farmers Union of Malawi Chief Executive Officer Jacob Nyirongo said the organization will be happy if ADMARC adjust in response to market trends.
